Media studies project BDM 320 in connection to BDM 331.

For BDM 320 we have to film and recreate a famous scene in 3 genres. This is our assignment with reference to postmodern. My ideas was the famous shower scene from Psycho. The 3 genres are Comedy (Monty Python style) Musical and Silent film.

Comedy: the idea is to have a choir of 3 lovely ladies standing next to the shower and having them narrate the film. "All alone the victim has no idea that the killer is at entering the home". Waiting for a minute for the killer who does not appear. The choir starts to argue where is the killer at? They are also reading the lines from a folder and are dressed in white robes. Once the killer comes in and starts stabbing the victim I'll have them say slash, slash , slash and in real Grand Guignol have blood splattering on the choir. I hope they will hold the laughter until the end of the scene. My biggest reference to that is Monty Python and Mel Brooks. Maybe have the robes and some washing powder in one of the cast hands. When I get bloody I use Dash it washes whiter than white.

Musical: I had an idea to use the song "Psycho Killer" from the talking heads and combining that into the scene of Psycho. But it might be very difficult to make that a reallity.

The Silent Film will be obviously in Black & White using written words in between scenes. And edit in B&W by using the same footage from the Comedy segment but maybe without the washing product at the end. I am not quit sure if Silent Film would be a genre. But then again what is the Artist all about if not Postmodern.

My other idea was a Western but then I need to source cowboy hats or Ponchos. The idea for that was using the Ennio Morricone score. Still figuring out how to do it with the Psycho scene do. Maybe attempt a lot of close ups ?
